All accepted papers must be presented at the workshop in order to be published in the proceedings. Best student paper awards, selected by a SSP committee, will be presented at the workshop.

All contributions must be submitted using the EDAS online system.

Tip for exporting IEEExplore compatible PDFs for figures

Figures generated in MATLAB and exported using the “File/Export” menu route in MATLAB will produce pdfs that do have not all fonts embedded in them.

IEEE requires that all fonts be embedded and you will see a warning to this effect when you submit your compiled PDF on EDAS. A way around that is to use the export_fig command in MATLAB as:

export_fig(gcf,’FontMode’,’fixed’,’FontSize’,10,’Color’,’filename.pdf’).

Download the export_fig package

Using IEEE PDF eXpress to check compatibility

Authors may check their final submission for pdf compatibility at the IEEE PDF eXpress website (how PDF eXpress works). Please, check this web page for further information about conference ID (SSP2016 Conference ID: 34785x).

Final Manuscript Guidelines

  • Use the most current version of Microsoft Word, which will help reduce Word-to-PDF conversion issues such as embedded fonts, bookmarks, etc.
  • No page numbers and no headers/footers.
  • A non-zero PDF top and bottom margins (typically, at least 0.5 inches) to help indicate if there are any page numbers.
